Workers of bobbins, needles, and threads Heed the call! Threading lines together Unites us all (We stand tall!) STITCH WITCH (Stitchers, we end billionaires) Every half finished dress Form plans around Whisper plans assessed to overthrow Stitch Witches Cornered & desperate Sewed the last thread in the Summoning tapestry, and the Loom Lich Manifested Incinerated The factory thugs and the Sweatshop burned… As the armed thugs hired by the sweatshop bosses Chased the desperate workers into the last room The resolute women sewed the last stitch In the summoning circle to summon the Loom Lich And with a shriek of undead justice a ring of multicolored fire Rose up to consume the oppressors Of the downtrodden mill workers Sweatshops Burn Tonight Stitch Witches Cornered & desperate Sewed the last thread in the Summoning tapestry, and the Loom Lich Manifested Incinerated The factory thugs and the Sweatshop burned…

Gatekeeper 05:34
Gatekeeper’s got problems Mill working women unionizing Wanting to play “his” game Be in “his” hobby shop Gotta find a solution Sexual harassment might do A call to their boss about their Congregating GATEKEEPER Isn’t it odd that you claim to like women Yet you don’t treat them with respect Or regard them as human? Feminism means women are human first And gendered subjects after It’s a bumper sticker Not difficult to reason GATEKEEPER So here you are As the cops drive mill workers Into the last room You remember your dice and you roll You fail But they don’t fail when they roll Natural 20 GATEKEEPER You fail You always fail You are a failure at life and living And the Loom lich rises You face all your compromises Your failures to stand up for the abused And disempowered Now embodied nine feet tall before you It rips you in two and you Are forgotten Swept out into the drains Hosed off the street You are forgotten forever As the new dawn rises Ain’t no compromises As the gates are thrown open GATEKEEPER DIES IN TIME As the new dawn is rising GATEKEEPER

The debt economy Occupies the terrain of the Political It uses and exploits The process of ‘ethics-political’ In order to transform Each individual into An indebted Economic subject MEASURE EVALUATION APPRAISAL All arise from the question of power Before there is any question of economics Whether lawmaker or tyrant He who holds the power Is the surveyor of the city The measurer of the land The measurer of things The measurer of Wealth The measurer of Rights The measurer of Power Racialized trans bodies Neurodivergent minds That’s who we’re fighting for They matter Redlined black families matter Unhoused students matter Neurodivergence matters Your crippling anxiety matters

(Don't embarrass us, Dad)   We used to have fun Running underneath the sun The one knee broke and the other Went looking for his long lost brother You missed the penalty Walking We used to be young Something to look at bewildered Half poured beer can I think I forgot where I am Sonic middle age Ineffective sage I’m too tired to rage Sonic middle age Sonic middle age You’re only as young as your mind tells you And we’re looking pretty weak At some age your death is not a tragedy Inevitability He went too young He had a good run I wish I still could run Will it be drink? Will I slip and sink Fat into the Pacific Ocean? Me and California In the Pacific Ocean Boiling and roiling fatso See you on the other side If there is another side As we burn out & fade away We end every show this way Hey, the freeway’s clear I can make it to there from here As I fall away Slip and fade Don’t embarrass us, Dad Sonic Middle Age Sonic Middle Age (Cough, hack) (I’m alright)

about

Bleak Ruin was written before the pandemic. Everything else was essentially improvised in Summer 2023 over two sessions -- some from existing ideas, others out of nowhere -- and crafted afterwards into songs. It was an unusual but freeing way to write.

With songs about Lowell women factory workers summoning demons, anarchist social centers in Italy, misogynist hobby shop owners getting their due, the creaky complaints of aging musicians, and of course D&D, this album is more personal, more political, and maybe more post- than punk or metal.

You can listen to hardcore, metal, or grind
But goddammit, kid, you've got to be kind

Don't make it clever -- It'll all turn out

Threading lines together
Unites us all

Racialized trans bodies matter
Redlined Black families matter
Unhoused students matter
Neurodivergence matters
Your crippling anxiety matters
